Amsterdam-based keyboardist & producer MANOLO blends funk, jazz,dance, and Caribbean rhythms into one energetic musical journey. Thoughhe’s of Antillean descent and has never visited the islands, he feels deeplyconnected to the culture and people. MANOLO uses danceable rhythms andpercussion to explore and celebrate his roots.

Growing up, MANOLO never knew his Antillean grandfather. His mother wasborn from a brief encounter between his grandmother and a man from theCaribbean, and this unknown part of his family has always intrigued him.Although he’s never been to the Antilles, the music and culture of the islandshave always felt like a big part of who he is.

After completing his studies in classical and jazz piano, MANOLO decided totake a new musical path in 2022. His debut EP, Or Is It?!, introduced adanceable ’80s funk sound with Caribbean influences, marking the first stepin his search for his roots. With his new second EP, Nùmber Dos, hecontinues exploring his heritage through layered percussion, infectiousbasslines, and danceable melodies, being inspired by his frequent visits toBerlins nightlife.
